Fans are criticizing the BCCI and the umpires for the substitution, arguing that it was not a like-for-like replacement but rather more of an impact player for India.

The concussion substitute rule states that the player replacing the concussed player should be a like-for-like replacement. In India’s case, Shivam Dube is a batter who can bowl, while Harshit Rana is a bowling all-rounder. Therefore, fans are slamming the umpire and BCCI for misusing the rule.
