Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami’s absence from recent training sessions has raised concerns about his availability. KL Rahul addresses injury rumours
In a pre-match press conference, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul addressed the injury rumors, reassuring fans, “Fitness-wise, I think everything is okay.” He also spoke about his role in the team, particularly in comparison to Rishabh Pant. “It is pressure when someone of Rishabh’s talent is there. I won’t lie. But I have been given a responsibility and I try to perform that. I don’t try to play like him,” Rahul said, stressing on his approach to fulfilling team expectations.

Looking ahead to the match against New Zealand, Rahul emphasized that India won’t underestimate any opponent. “We don’t take anyone lightly in this competition,” he said.
