Most centuries against India in Test Ft. Steve Smith

Australia’s Steve Smith has demonstrated why he is India’s most feared opponent, maintaining his exceptional form by scoring a century in Melbourne during the Boxing Day Test. Continuing his stellar performance, this was his second hundred of the series, with the first coming in Brisbane. This innings marked his 34th Test century and his 11th against India, setting a new record for the most Test centuries scored against the Indian team.

Smith scored 140 off 197 balls in the IND vs AUS 4th Test.

Smith’s century against India cemented his status as the most prolific batter in Test cricket against the subcontinental powerhouse. His 11 Test centuries against India now stand as the highest by any player, surpassing England’s Joe Root, who has 10.

This achievement brings Smith closer to former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting’s record of 41 Test centuries, the highest by an Australian batter.
