The district administration has constituted a Monitoring Committee headed by the Tiruppur Revenue Divisional Officer for ensuring safety of tourists visiting the recently-inaugurated boathouse of Andipalayam Lake.
The picturesque water body, on a 58-acre expanse along Mangalam Road, that remains full all through the year has begun attracting visitors.
The boathouse established by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department at an expenditure of ₹1.50 crore features 13 boats, ticket counter, restaurant, coffee shop, and children’s park.
The Andipalayam Boat House Tourist Safety and Monitoring Committee that was formed as per the directive of District Collector T. Christuraj held its first meeting chaired by the RDO Mohanasundaram.
District Tourism Officer Aravind Kumar, in his capacity as the Member Secretary of the Committee, elaborated on the safety measures.
The members of the committee encompass senior officials of Tiruppur City Corporation, Water Resources Department, Fire and Rescue Services Department, Police Department, and Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
