Anwar Ali reportedly signed 5-year permanent deal with arch rivals East Bengal, AIFF & PSC to take final call
The Anwar Ali transfer saga continues. Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan are relaxed about retaining their ace defender Anwar Ali and have asked the player to join the training in the coming days. Given the delicate nature of the matter, Mohun Bagan would also be forced to take legal action against the player should he not join the training on the given stipulated date.

InsideSport can confirm that Mohun Bagan has asked Anwar Ali to report back for training on 19th July. The player is slated to train with the youth team ahead of the Durand Cup. Given reports claim that the player has signed for arch-rivals East Bengal, the Mariners would be forced to take legal action against the player, if he fails to turn up for the training sessions.

The All India Football Federation is yet to take a call on the matter. Mohun Bagan is unwilling to let go of their star defender, especially to their arch-rivals, given the player is supposed to stay till 2027. Mohun Bagan claims that they have done everything by the book and will seek legal action if things turn south.
As per reports, Anwar Ali is supposed to have signed a 5-year deal with East Bengal yesterday. But, what happens to the player and where he will play will now entirely depend on if his loan deal termination is done properly. Furthermore, the case is likely to head to the Player Status Committee (PSC) and a decision will be taken in due course of time.
But it is now looking gloomy for the player. Amidst his transfer saga, young Anwar Ali now faces a legal battle if he fails to join Mohun Bagan’s training session on 19th July.
