Shami was the highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup and played the entire mega-event despite being impaired.
Mohammed Shami, one of India’s best pace bowlers of all time, has started his comeback trail. The bowler who plays for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL has been out of action since the end of the ODI World Cup 2023. At the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Shami has begun rigorous training under the supervision of the medical staff.
Having undergone an achilles tendon surgery in February, the pacer missed the IPL 2024 season and the ongoing T20 World Cup. Although it’s still uncertain whether he’ll return to cricket soon, he might ideally be aiming to be back at full fitness before India’s home season starts in September.
