JAMMU: Independent MLA
Sheikh Khursheed Ahmed
sat holding a banner on the Jammu and Kashmir assembly premises Monday demanding to restore statehood, and justice for the families of two civilians killed in Kathua and Sopore.
Amid rains that lashed the region, the legislator from Langate assembly constituency also attempted to enter the Central Hall during Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s Budget speech. But he was prevented by the security staff.

Sajad Gani Lone
wrote it was indistinguishable from a possible BJP speech had the party been in power, and that there seemed to be an ideological overlap.
“No mention not even remotely of Article 370, Article 35 A. No mention of 5 Aug 2019. No mention of reorganisation Act… seems NC govt has done away even with ornamentalism. They don’t even want to pretend that have anything to do with Article 370,” he wrote.
“Be prepared for an aimless, visionless spell of governance, bereft of newness in approach or creativity. Same beaten track. Bureaucrats ran the last administration. Bureaucrats will run this administration. Political contribution to governance is all set to be non-existent,” Lone added.
