Conducting thorough research on the significance of temples, locations, and regions will aid in the development of local areas, Minister for Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathi said.
The Minister was speaking during the launch of the revised edition of ‘Architecture and Art of Vijayanagara- Lepakshi’ an English version book of authored by writer and historian MyNaa Swamy, who hails from Gorantla of Sri Sathya Sai district. The event took place at the Secretariat in Vijayawada on Thursday (December 19).
The Minister expressed his hope that Mr. MyNaa Swamy would write more books that would benefit society.
Recently, ‘Architecture and Art of Vijayanagara Lepakshi’ was honored with the Best Publicity Book Award by the Department of Tourism in the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Mr. MyNaa Swamy also published a book titled ‘Pracīna Alayāla Vaibhōgaṁ,’ which is based on research into the renowned ancient temples located in Sri Sathya Sai district, Puttaparthi.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Lepakshi temple in January, Mr. MyNaa Swamy acted as an interpreter, sharing insights into the history of Vijayanagara and the temple’s significance.
The historian mentioned that he is currently exploring various facets of the Vijayanagara Empire, including its history, culture, inscriptions, architectural marvels, religious practices, and temple designs, with plans to publish his findings in multiple languages in the near future.
