Shah Rukh Khan’s ban was lifted in 2017, but the star hasn’t attended a match at the stadium despite that.
One of India’s biggest superstars and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner, Shah Rukh Khan, hasn’t been to the Wakhede Stadium since he was banned in 2012. His 5-year ban was lifted in 2017, but Shah Rukh hasn’t been to the stadium since the ban was imposed on him by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) 12 years ago.
Why was Shah Rukh Khan banned from the Wankhede Stadium?
According to the MCA, King Khan was involved in an altercation with security staff at the Wakhede Stadium. A senior officer in Mumbai Police claimed that he was inebriated, which is against the rules at the stadium.
Suhana Khan’s harassment behind SRK’s Wankhede exile?
According to former KKR team director Joy Bhattacharjya, the reason behind Shah Rukh Khan’s ban was due to his daughter Suhana Khan’s mistreatment. He wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account that an individual had catcalled his daughter, not because he was drunk.
“The last time KKR beat MI at the Wankhede, I was still a part of that dugout. It’s been a while, but today might just be the day! KKR won two championships after that incident. And he did not abuse, I was there. And the next time, stay calm when someone cat calls your young daughter.”

Will Shah Rukh Khan return for MI vs KKR?
The Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders match will be played on May 3. SRK has been to multiple KKR matches this season, especially at their home ground, the Eden Gardens, but he hasn’t been to their away games. Considering that, the chances of him coming to attend the match at Wakhede Stadium aren’t high.
