A viral clip showing a six-year-old boy being forced to consume alcohol has led to the arrest of his relative who was allegedly behind the act.
The accused is a 27-year-old man who reportedly filmed the act of crime and uploaded the video on his Facebook page with the caption, “My elder brother’s son” a few days ago near a village in Jeeyapuram police station limits. The police said the accused took his nephew to the location, forced him to drink alcohol, recorded the act and shared it online.
Following the clip’s circulation, a local resident filed a complaint at the Kanakiliyanallur Police Station. Police have registered a case under Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act (prohibiting intoxicating substances for children) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material). The accused has been arrested, and further investigations are under way.
