India wins its 27th medal after Hokato Hotozhe Sema clinched bronze in the ongoing Paris Paralympics. The para-athlete from Nagaland secured the bronze medal in the Men’s Shot Put – F57 event, recording his best throw of 14.65m on his fourth attempt, which is also his personal best. Iranian athlete, Yasin Khosravi wins the gold medal with his best throw of 15.96m, setting a new Paralympic record. Thiago dos Santos Paulino from Brazil secured silver with a throw of 15.06m.
First Paralympic medal for Hokato
Hokato Hotozhe Sema wins his first-ever Paralympic medal. Earlier, at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, he secured a bronze medal in the same event. Now, he has a bronze medal from both the Asian Para Games and the Paralympics.

Soman Rana, another Indian competitor in the same event as Hokato, won the silver medal in the previous Asian Games and finished above Hokato. However, this time he was unable to replicate his success and ended up in fourth position with his best throw of 14.07m.
