Harshit Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and will be suspended for one game
In a blow to Kolkata Knight Riders, pacer Harshit Rana has been fined 100% of his match fees and faces a one-match suspension for breaching the Code of Conduct. The incident occurred during the game against Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens on Monday. KKR won the match comfortably by seven wickets, cementing their position on the 2nd spot in the IPL 2024 points table.
“Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” as per IPL’s press release.

Rana picked two wickets while conceding 28 runs in his four-over spell. The offence committed by Harshit is yet to come to light, however. Prior to the game, pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee had objected to KKR bowling coach Bharat Arun and Rana practicing on one of the practice pitches prepared for Delhi Capitals. The duo were asked to leave the field.
