JIND: Former chief minister
Manohar Lal Khattar
who too faced opposition of farmers in his own constituency like other BJP candidates have been facing, reiterated that people who are opposing them are ‘sirfire’ (crazy). He was here in Pillu Khera town of Jind district to attend a birth anniversary of Dhanna Bhagat held by BJP workers on Wednesday. Earlier Khattar made this same controversial statement in Jind district which was condemned by farmer unions in Haryana.
Farmer leaders said that Khattar made a mockery of 750 farmers who died during the protest of 2020-21 against now repealed three laws.
Notably, Haryana farmers have been staging protest against BJP candidates and asking questions for failing to meet the demands and promises made by prime minister Narendra Modi in 2014, 2019 and during the 13 months long agitation consecutively. A couple of days back, a state level meeting of SKM was held at jat dharmshala of Jind district in which they have decided that farmers will ask questions in a democratic way to BJP leaders to recall their promises while their campaigning in villages.
Talking to media persons, Khattar said that only few people are opposing BJP candidates are crazy people. They are only 10 percent in numbers and doesn’t matter they vote to BJP or not. Only few percent of votes will go to other parties as major chunk of voters are standing firmly with BJP. “We will ensure victory on all 10 seats in Haryana, ” he added.
