As the Opposition in Rajya Sabha demanded discussion on the massive Wayanad landslides this morning, Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankar allowed the members to express their concern on the matter. He also said that the ‘whole House’ is with the victims but also said that since action is being taken by the state, central governments in Kerala there can be no discussion in the Upper House. ‘We express our condolences and out solidarity…Any disaster in any part of the country is of grave importance to us…I cannot confine tragedy to one state,’ he said, after dismission Kharge’s request for a Kerala Congress MP to be allowed to speak on the issue.
