Days after British rock band Coldplay showed a clip of Jasprit Bumrah bowling against the England cricket team during a concert in India, there was another tribute from the band for the world’s premier pace bowler at their Ahmedabad concert.
Coldplay performed at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium with a signed Indian cricket team jersey from Bumrah displayed on stage.

Later on, Bumrah was shown on the mega screen with Chris Martin singing a personalised song for the pacer.
“Jasprit, my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket. We do not enjoy, watching you destroy… England with wicket after wicket after wicket,” Martin sang as the crowd at the stadium went wild. Meanwhile, Bumrah blushed.
Right after this, another montage was shown where Bumrah dismisses England batters.
Over the course of their India tour, Coldplay have given multiple tributes to the pacer.
Bumrah has responded to the gestures, posting on social media: “This made me smile! Incredible vibe at the Coldplay concert in Mumbai (from what I’ve seen here) and even more special to be mentioned.”
Earlier, the band had shared a photo of a cricket ball drawn on the drums with the caption: “I think even Jasprit might struggle to bowl with this badly-drawn ball, but at least it is almost spherical. It is such a pleasure to be here at this amazing stadium and to play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.”
In one of their concerts at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, lead singer of the band Chris Martin had joked that Bumrah was backstage and wanted him to pause the concert for 15 minutes so that he could bowl to him.
In another instance, Coldplay’s Chris Martin had paused the concert to read out a letter from Bumrah, which he claimed was from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyers. “I’m so sorry, but I have to read a letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyer. I have to do this because, otherwise, we could be sent to prison and wouldn’t be able to perform in Ahmedabad,” Chris Martin had said after pausing his concert.
The band had also played a clip of Bumrah dismissing England batter Ollie Pope during the Test series between India and England last year.
“With respect and love for Jasprit, number one in the world, we hope that we send love to him by showing you this clip of India destroying England,” Chris Martin had said at DY Patil.
