Naresh Chauhan, who is also the Media Adviser to the chief minister, while addressing media persons in Shimla on Wednesday said that Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to give minimum support price on milk. For the first time in Himachal Pradesh, apples were sold on a kilo basis. The state government has made a historic increase of one and a half rupees on the minimum support price of apples as well as worked to increase the infrastructure of CA stores and now from the next season apples will be sold in universal cartons, he said.
He said that Himachal Pradesh has become the first state to provide a pension of Rs 1500 per month to women above 18 years of age. Along with this, a pension of Rs 1500 is also being provided to 2.74 lakh women of the state who were receiving pension of Rs 1000 to 1100. He said that the state government did historic work during the disaster while the BJP remained missing during the disaster.
He said that when a resolution was brought in the Assembly to declare the disaster in Himachal as a national disaster, none of the BJP MLAs supported it. He said that after the present state government found the treasury empty from the previous BJP government, chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu implemented many welfare schemes, whereas the model of the previous BJP government was to take only loans while then chief minister Jai Ram Thakur kept talking about a double engine government.

Chauhan said that police recruitment papers were sold during the BJP government and auction of papers continued in Himachal Pradesh Staff Subordinate Selection Commission, Hamirpur. But the Congress government tightened the noose on the paper mafia and secured the future of the youth, he added.
He said that BJP state president Rajeev Bindal keeps accusing the Congress government of failure, but in the previous BJP government he was removed due to corruption charges. He said that the people of Himachal Pradesh also know the circumstances under which he became the state president of BJP.
