Making his first domestic red-ball appearance this year, Ishan Kishan smashed a half-century in his first game for India C in Duleep Trophy
Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made the most of his opportunity on his red-ball comeback as he scored a brisk fifty. The southpaw was included in India C’s XI in the last minute after his name was missing from the updated squads announced by the BCCI. Kishan had missed the opening round match of Duleep Trophy after reportedly suffering an injury.
Ishan Kishan took 48 deliveries to reach his half-century, scoring almost run a ball to reach the milestone. The southpaw walked in to bat after the departure of Rajat Patidar and took charge of the innings. Playing the role of aggressor, Kishan majorly dealt with boundaries in the first part of his innings. He reached his half-century shortly after lunch on Day 1.

Earlier this year, the southpaw was snubbed from the BCCI’s Central Contracts list following his decision to skip Ranji Trophy. Despite Kishan providing a reason for skipping the tournament, he bore the brunt of the selectors who had specifically insisted all the players to participate in the domestic tourney.
