IPL Points Table 2024, Team Rankings: There was no change on top of the table after the Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals match with RR extending its lead to 16 points after defeating LSG. With the loss, Lucknow, who could have risen to the 2nd position stayed at 4th.
Earlier, the Delhi Capitals rose further above in the points table, overtaking the Chennai Super Kings after their 10-run win against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday. After 10 games now, the Rishabh Pant-led side has five wins and as many losses. Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians remained ninth with just three wins from nine outings.
On Friday, Punjab Kings pulled off a record 262-run chase over the Kolkata Knight Riders to move to the eighth spot at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday. The record-breaking win helped Punjab surpass Mumbai Indians on the ladder while KKR remained on the second spot despite their third defeat.

The playoff scenario
RR, KKR, SRH and LSG are the four sides that are currently in the top four. The top four teams will qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs. The top two teams will play in the first Qualifier with the winner going straight into the final. The Eliminator will be played between the teams who are placed third and fourth in the IPL 2024 standings. The winner of the Eliminator will lock horns against the losing team of Qualifier 1. The winner of the Qualifier 2 will enter the final, which will be held at May 26.
