India’s premium recurve archer Deepika Kumari secured her spot in the semi-finals of the prestigious World Archery Cup. The former world number one beat her counterpart from South Korea – Jeon Hunyoung – to proceed further in the tournament. This is the first time that Deepika Kumari is making it to the World Cup curcuit after two long years.

Kumari is the lone Indian recurv archer to reach the semis of this edition of the tournament. Firstly, she knocked out third-seeded Katharina Bauer of Germany (7-3) in the second round and then upset the 6th-seeded Jeon Hunyoung of South Korea (6-4) in the quarters.
