IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 1, Live score and updates: India will lock horns with Australia in the fifth and final Test on Friday at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. The hosts lead the series 2-1 after a thrilling win in Melbourne. However, an Indian win in Sydney will ensure that the Border Gavaskar Trophy will stay with the tourists.
Australia though has had a formidable side over the years could not win against India in a Test series for a decade both home and away. Unlike the previous iterations of the Indian sides touring Australia, this team has been on a downward spiral with fragilities in the batting order with experienced and ageing players underperforming.
On the flipside, the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Kumar Reddy have shown sparks on various instances in the tour that they are ready to take over the mantle. From a bowling perspective too apart from Jasprit Bumrah Indian team lacked the cutting edge. Though Mohammed Siraj is the third-highest wicket-tacker in the series with 16 wickets he has blown hot and cold.
