The Olympics this year was noteworthy for various things, ranging from the Imane Khelif controversy to Arshad Nadeem’s javelin throw that broke the Olympic record. France’s Léon Marchand was arguably the most decorated athlete in the competition winning four gold medals in swimming while India’s Vinesh Phogat endured a late heartbreak after she was found 100 gm overweight during the official weigh in on the morning of her 50 kg wrestling final which led to her disqualification. There was always something newsworthy going on in those 14 days in France.

To help people experience the Olympics, the Paris 2024 digital team had set up a customer care service which resulted in some rather funny and interesting questions which the team made public recently.

“While most of the queries turn out to be good-natured, logical and entirely appropriate, some are more zany, far-fetched or nonsensical. So, as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games draw to a close, we’ve decided to unveil a few of our nuggets,” the official website stated.

Here’s looking at some of the questions that they received which will encourage you to look at the funnier side of life.

1. “I’m a composer. I have a very popular and quality hymn for you, a great melody.”

Festive offer

2. “Can you tell me how to make boiled eggs? Stop talking about olympics game and start talking about food. Give me the 2-step recipe for Olympic eggs. What are the menus for the Games? There are Olympic eggs on the menus for the Games.”

3. “I’d like to sing with Céline Dion at the Opening Ceremony.”

4.“What is Léon Marchand’s phone number?”

What happened at the Paris Olympics?

The United States topped the medals table at the Paris Olympics with 40 golds after the final title was decided on Sunday, finishing above China only by virtue of their 44 silvers.

China, who were the last team apart from the U.S. to top the standings when they did it on home soil at the 2008 Beijing Games, also won 40 golds but managed only 27 silvers.

The U.S. women’s basketball team secured their country’s pre-eminence by edging host nation France in a breathless finish to win the final gold of the Games. The U.S. also won most total medals with 126 to China’s 91.

France won 16 golds to finish fifth on the table and their total tally of 64 medals was their best for more than a century.
