HYDERABAD: Digital fitness and wellness technology startup
Portl
has raised $3 million (Rs 25 crore approx) in a pre-Series A funding round led by
Bharat Innovation Fund
. The round also saw participation from existing investor Kalaari Capital and new investor T-Hub Foundation.
The infusion of capital will accelerate Portl’s product development, market expansion, and enhancement of its cutting-edge AI systems, the Hyderabad-based startup said.
Founded in March 2021 by Indraneel Gupta, Vishal Chandapeta and Armaan Kandhari and incubated at T-Hub, Portl has disrupted the fitness technology sector with its flagship offering — Portl Studio that uses a smart mirror with a 43-inch 4K screen, embedded bio-sensors, HD cameras, and edge-AI processing with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Portl Studio digital platform integrates AI to provide personalised fitness and wellness experiences and offers realtime form feedback, health monitoring and seamless telemedicine integrations.
Portl founder & CEO Indraneel Gupta said the latest funding round validates the startup’s vision to make health and fitness accessible to everyone by revolutionising personalised fitness with cutting-edge technology.
Bharat Innovation Fund founding partner Ashwin Raguraman said Portl’s product has the power to be the second mirror and third screen in everyone’s home.
