Last year, we’d seen fans try to book hospital beds to stay in Ahmedabad out of desperation as hotel rooms were all sold out.

We are just 38 days away from arguably the biggest sports clash in the world, India vs Pakistan. Two years ago, the electrifying encounter saw 90,000 people gather at the MCG Stadium in Melbourne in what was one of the greatest cricket matches of all time. Now imagine what we are going to witness when we have an IND vs PAK encounter in New York at the T20 World Cup.

Last year, during the ODI World Cup 2023, we’d heard stories that fans had booked hospital beds to stay in Ahmedabad as the hotel rooms in the city were all sold out. It seems like something similar might happen this year as well for the IND vs PAK match in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Buzz high for India vs Pakistan in New York

When trying to book hotel rooms for the high-octane match, we are already seeing a price increase of about 600%. Rooms that are available for $113 (Rs 9422) for a night go from May 2 to $799 (Rs 66624) when trying to book for the India vs Pakistan clash on June 9. Most of the other establishments aren’t increasing their prices by 600%, but all of them are at least doubling them.

Hotel Price (May 2) Price (June 9)
Red Roof PLUS+ Long Island – Garden City $113 (Rs 9422) $799 (Rs 66624)
