Health Minister visits Uma Thomas

Health Minister Veena George said on Tuesday that the health condition of Uma Thomas, MLA, who had sustained severe injuries to the head and lungs after she fell from a makeshift stage at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor here on December 29, had shown considerable improvement.

She visited Ms. Thomas at Renai Medicity Hospital here and interacted with doctors. The Minister said the Thrikkakara MLA would continue in the intensive care unit for another week. “With external help, she is able to get up from bed and sit on a chair. Her lung contusion has not worsened, and it is a relief,” she said. The Minister also met Ms. Thomas’ children.
