Harmanpreet Kaur made her captaincy debut against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2012 Women’s T20 Asia Cup final at the Guanggong International Cricket Stadium in China. Since then, Harmanpreet has led India in 96 T20Is and 11 ODI matches so far. She is yet to captain India in Test cricket.
The Punjab-born cricketer has recorded the third highest wins as captain in women’s T20 internationals so far. Under Harmanpreet’s captaincy, India Women have won 54 of the 96 matches while suffering 37 losses. She has a win percentage of 59.23 in WT20Is.
Only former England captain Charlotte Edwards (68) and Australia skipper Meg Lanning (68) have more wins in women’s T20I cricket. During her T20I captaincy reins, Harmanpreet has scored 2,128 runs in 96 matches at an average of 30.84. She has hit one hundred and eight fifties so far.
