India’s T20 World Cup winning vice-captain Hardik Pandya on Thursday took to his social media to state that he is parting ways with his partner Natasa Stankovic, whom he married in 2020.

“After four years of being together, Natasa and I have decided to mutually part ways. We tried our best together and gave it our all, and we believe this is in the best interest for both of us. This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family,” Pandya wrote on his Instagram.

“We are blessed with Agastya, who will continue to be at the centre of both our lives and we will co-parent to ensure that we give him everything that we can for happiness,” he added.

The pair had tied the knot in May 2020 and were blessed with a son in 2021.

Pandya was recently involved in India’s historic T20 World Cup win. Named as Rohit Sharma’s deputy, Pandya bowled the last over to see through India’s win against South Africa in the summit clash.

Festive offer

The all-rounder nabbed 11 wickets in eight games and was also a crucial protagonist with the bat in India’s first-ever ICC trophy win since the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Following India’s win in the final, an emotional Pandya conceded, “It means a lot. Very emotional, we’ve been working very hard and something was not clicking. But today we got what the whole nation wanted. Special for me after my six months, I haven’t spoken a word, things have been unfair, but I knew there’d be a time I could shine. An opportunity like this makes it all the more special.”

The ‘unfair’ comment came after Pandya’s tumultuous few months in the Indian Premier League when he was booed relentlessly when he replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise after getting traded in from Gujarat Titans.
