NEW DELHI: JD(S) MLA and former Karnataka minister

H D Revanna

has moved the

People’s Representative Court

in Bengaluru on Thursday, seeking

anticipatory bail

following a notice from the

Special Investigation Team

(SIT) indicating an imminent arrest in a

sexual harassment

case registered in Holenarasipura,

Hassan

.
The court, responding to Revanna’s plea, has directed the SIT to submit its objections and scheduled the next hearing for May 3.

The allegations involve Revanna’s son, sitting Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who has also been implicated in the case. The senior JD(S) leader confirmed receiving the notice from the SIT, expressing willingness to cooperate with the investigation. However, he declined to comment further on the matter.
The SIT, in response, has deployed three teams to conduct a thorough investigation into the case.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of external affairs (MEA) clarified that no political clearance was sought or issued for the reported travel of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna to Germany. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that diplomatic passport holders do not require a visa to travel to Germany. The clarification came amidst reports of Prajwal Revanna being in Germany amid the ongoing allegations.
The Janata Dal (Secular) has already suspended Prajwal Revanna, who is seeking re-election from Hassan. Revanna, belonging to the prominent political family of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, remains a central figure in Karnataka politics.
