Bhagam Bhag
‘ has been announced recently and that has sparked speculations about the return of the original trio of the film: Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Govinda. However, in a surprising twist, it has been revealed that Govinda has not received an offer to reprise his role in the sequel to the 2006 film.
Govinda has heen quoted by Mid-day, saying that he has not been approached for ‘
Bhagam Bhag 2
‘ or engaged in any discussions regarding the sequel. He mentioned that while there are rumors about him being involved not only in ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ but also in other sequels, such as Partner, no official offers have been made to him yet.
When asked if he would join the cast of ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ if offered, Govinda acknowledged the popularity of sequels today but emphasised that decisions should not be based solely on trends or public opinion. He stated that any project he considers must be thoroughly discussed, covering all aspects from remuneration to the script, his character, and the director involved.
For those who may not know, Sarita Ashwin Varde has acquired the rights for the sequel to ‘Bhagam Bhag’ from Shemaroo Entertainment. She is also in the process of developing the film’s script. In her statement, she noted, “A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge.”
