PATNA: Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has come out with an interesting slogan to win the support of the young voters as the polling enters decisive phases. Voting is left on a total of 16 Lok Sabha seats in the remaining two phases in the state.
“
Tum mujhe vote do, main tumhe naukari dunga
(Give us your
votes
and I will give you jobs),” reads a new slogan of Tejashwi, on the lines of the famous slogan of Subhash Chandra Bose “
Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe aazadi dunga
(Give me blood, I promise you freedom).”
Asked by the media persons to comment on this slogan, Tejashwi said job and employment are the main issues today.
“Youths are running from pillar to post in search of jobs despite lakhs of posts lying vacant in government departments. The number of such vacant posts in government departments is some 30 lakhs,” Tejashwi told the media on Friday, adding another 70 lakh posts could be created.
Such has been the power of his job slogans that impressive crowds of
youths
have been attending every
rally
of Tejashwi braving scorching sun. Tejashwi, accompanied by VIP president Mukesh Sahni has addressed more than 200 rallies, setting aside his backache troubles.
The total number of young voters in the state is 1.6 crore in the age-group of 20-29, according to a report of the Election Commision, and Tejashwi wants to reach out to this section through his job promise.
Describing unemployment as the main issue in the country, Tejashwi has also been talking about transferring Rs1 lakh to the bank account of every woman if the new government comes to power.
