MUMBAI: The Maharashtra
cabinet
on Thursday urged the Centre to award the
Bharat Ratna
, the country’s highest civilian award, to Ratan Tata. The state govt declared a one-day (Oct 10) state mourning for the industrialist. Later in the day, the state industry and labour department issued a govt resolution (GR) renaming the Udyog Ratna award as ‘Ratan Tata Udyog Ratna Award.’ Ratan Tata was the first recipient of the award when it was instituted in 2023.
