Babar Azam stepped up for them in the decider after he scored 75 runs off 42 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes
Fans were left divided after Shaheen Shah Afridi’s imperiously reliable bowling and rapid half-centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam propelled Pakistan to a six-wicket triumph against Ireland on Tuesday, winning the PAK vs IRE series 2-1 in Dublin. Coming from behind with a loss in the first game, Pakistan claimed a 7-wicket win to level the series, before breaking the tie on Tuesday.
Stand-in skipper Lorcan Tucker’s 41-ball 73 powered Ireland to a challenging 178. However, Babar and Rizwan made easy work of a rather below-par total, and Ireland’s mediocre bowling and shoddy fielding ensured the victory well before the winning runs were scored. While some celebrated Babar’s stellar knock with 3 consecutive sixes and a strike rate of over 190, others were not left content with the performance of the Pakistan team with the T20 World Cup ahead.
