Nikhita Gandhi rehearsing before her performance
Nikhita Gandhi was one of the opening performers at AP Dhillon’s concert in Mumbai. Backstage just before her performance, we found the talented singer in full prep mode, managing her styling, hair, and makeup all by herself while also fine-tuning her set. She was even hand-stitching gloves to complete her look.
“I like being hands-on when it comes to choosing my outfit,” Nikhita explained, focused on the gloves she was crafting. “I have so many ideas for my stylist and makeup team, and I’m so confident in my choices that I end up doing it myself.”

Excited about adding a touch of Punjabi flair to her performance, the half-Punjabi singer shared her excitement. “We’re at an
AP Dhillon concert
, and I know the crowd here is going to be all about
Punjabi music
. So, I made sure to curate my set list accordingly,” she said while rehearsing on stage. As she walked across the stage during the sound check, she waved to the empty venue, which would soon fill with eager fans. Crooning songs like
Raabta
and
Tere Pyaar Mein
, she gave her team sound adjustments and hurried back to the green room to finish her gloves.

“My fingers are getting stuck,” she muttered, quickly tearing the tips off the gloves to make them work. She also unboxed a pair of heels she had ordered online, but after trying them on, she tossed them back in the bag. “Too high,” she said, opting instead for a pair of sneakers.
“Do you like my green dress?” she asked, her energy infectious. “It’s a nod to the one Deepika Padukone wore in
Raabta
, but I went for a greener version of it.”
A knock on the door interrupted our conversation—just moments before her performance. A staff member informed her she had less than three minutes to get on stage.
“The key right before a performance is to stay chill,” she said, taking a deep breath as she walked toward the stage, ready to soak in the energy from the excited crowd.
