Team England have named their squad for upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. This 15-member team will also play against Pakistan in a T20I series from May 22
Defending champions England have recently announced their provisional squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and it boasts some exciting inclusions. The biggest news is the return of pace bowler Jofra Archer, who will be making his comeback after a lengthy absence due to injury. Archer’s raw pace and wicket-taking ability will be a huge boost to the English attack.
Another notable change sees Chris Jordan replacing Chris Woakes in the squad. Jordan’s experience and death bowling skills offer a different dimension compared to Woakes’ all-round package. Moreover, Tom Hartley, who made his international debut against India in the Test series earlier this year, has also earned his maiden T20I callup. The left-arm spinner has an experience of playing over 80 T20 matches so far.
England squad:Â Jos Buttler (c), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Reece Topley, Mark Wood
Led by Jos Buttler, England boasts a fiery batting lineup
The defending champions boasts a destructive batting lineup. Incredibly, many of those players have found their groove in the ongoing IPL 2024, where the likes of Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Will Jacks and Phil Salt, have all taken their form to a whole new level.
This Jos Buttler-led 15-member strong team will also take part in the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan at home. The 4-match rubber will start from May 22 and the final game will be played on 30 May, two days before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024 in USA and the West Indies. Notably, there are no reserve players named by ECB in their preliminary squad.
