, who was the other lead of the film, felt that he ‘wouldn’t be able to pull it off’, and hence Emraan didn’t make it to the cast.
Emraan has recently opened up about how he was supposed to debut with a Mahesh Bhatt film, however got dropped off. In an interview with The Lallantop, the actor revealed how he missed the opportunity to be a part of ‘Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar’. Emraan Hashmi was doing an acting course with Roshan Taneja at the time. After a month, (Mahesh) Bhatt called him and asked Roshan Taneja, ‘Is my boy ready to shoot the film?’ Roshan Taneja who had confidence in Emraan Hashmi said, ‘He is ready!’ However, Emraan wasn’t sure. He revealed that he ‘was trembling with nervousness’ because he was not ready. Ameesha also felt that he was too raw.

The ‘Murder’ star revealed that Ameesha had given just one hit (Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai) at the time, and she thought he couldn’t handle the role. “She was worried, she wanted the casting to be right for the hero. She wanted an experienced actor to be cast for the role, not someone totally inexperienced, someone who’s only done a one-month acting course,” Emraan recalled. Ameesha also expressed the same concern to Mahesh Bhatt. Emraan revealed that he was ‘infuriated’ and angry with her, however, now when he looks back from her point of view it was correct’.
