'Emergency' Box Office Collection Day 11: Kangana Ranaut starrer crosses the Rs. 16 crore mark

Kangana Ranuat’s political drama ‘Emergency,’ which chronicles the events of one of the most controversial and sensitive eras of Indian history made it to the theatres on January 17, 2025. The movie had a decent start at the box office and gave its contemporaries a tough competition. Despite the controversies embroiled around it and competition from movies like Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Azaad,’ the Kangana Ranaut starrer has crossed the Rs.16 crore mark after a run on 11 days at the box office.
According to a Sacnilk report, the film benefited from the Republic Day weekend, as on Saturday (Jan 25) it made Rs. 0.85 cr, and on Sunday (Jan 26) it earned Rs. 1.15 cr. However, it saw a dip in the business on Monday, as the early estimates show a business of just Rs. 0.20 crores.

The movie is running fast to reach the Rs17 crore mark and might even make Rs. 20 crore by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, its competition, ‘Game Changer’ earned Rs. 0.16 cr on Monday. On the other hand, the new release, Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Sky Force’ has taken the reigns at the box office with Rs. 6.25 cr collection on Monday.
Kangana Ranaut directed and produced the film, in which she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The storyline explores the critical months of the Emergency period in India. The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik, who contribute significant depth to the narrative.
