Niantic is set to bring Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event for players. An Electric-Type Pokémon Surge in the event.
Prepare to be electrified by the upcoming Pokémon GO Magnetic Study event! From Tuesday, October 15th to Thursday, October 17th, 2024, the world of Pokémon will be buzzing with electric-type excitement. Check out the event bonuses and more below:
The event will feature an increased chance of encountering Shiny Magnemite, Plusle, and Minun. These rare and valuable Pokémon will be highly sought after by trainers.
Magnetic Lure Modules will be even more effective during this event, attracting a greater number of event-themed Pokémon. This means increased opportunities to catch those elusive electric-types.
Each day of the event will offer special bonuses:
- October 15: Trainers will receive double XP for catching Pokémon, allowing them to level up quickly and unlock new rewards.
- October 16: Raid Battles will become even more rewarding, with players earning 50% more XP. This is a great opportunity to take on challenging raids and earn valuable rewards.
- October 17: Catching Pokémon will be doubly rewarding, as trainers will earn 2x Stardust. Stardust is a valuable resource used to power up and evolve Pokémon, so this bonus will be especially beneficial.

Timed Research:
Throughout the Magnetic Study event, trainers will have access to daily Timed Research tasks. These tasks will focus on exploring the world and catching Pokémon.
Completing the Timed Research tasks will reward trainers with encounters with Plusle, Magnemite, or Minun. There’s even a chance of encountering a Shiny version of these Pokémon, making the event even more exciting.
In addition to Pokémon encounters, trainers can also expect to receive rewards such as XP, Stardust, and Magnetic Lure Modules.
Field Research Tasks:
Alongside the Timed Research, trainers will also have the opportunity to complete Field Research tasks. These tasks will involve various activities, such as catching specific types of Pokémon or spinning PokéStops.
Completing Field Research tasks will reward trainers with encounters with Magnemite, Plusle, or Minun. Just like the Timed Research, there’s a chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon, adding an extra element of excitement to the event.
