A big match that will decide the semi-final matchups, that’s right! India is set to meet New Zealand in the Champions Trophy group-stage match. But how is the Dubai weather going to be?
India is set to take on New Zealand in the final Group A match of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, March 2, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Rohit Sharma and his team have been in amazing form, winning both of their matches in Dubai so far. They will aim to extend their winning streak and secure the top spot in Group A with another victory over New Zealand. Meanwhile, New Zealand, already leading Group A, will look to finish the group stage with a win as well.
While both teams have already qualified for the semi-finals, this match holds significance as it will determine the semi-final matchups. The team finishing at the top of Group A will face the second-placed side from Group B, whereas the second-ranked team in Group A will meet the Group B toppers.
With the stakes high for both India and New Zealand, take a look at what to expect from the Dubai weather and, most importantly, whether there is any chance of rain.
Unlike Pakistan, which has witnessed frequent rain recently, especially in Rawalpindi, where several games were abandoned, Dubai is expected to have clear weather. No rain is forecasted, with the chance of precipitation remaining as low as one percent. The temperature will range between 23 to 28 degrees Celsius during the day and around 18 degrees Celsius at night, meaning there should be no concerns regarding temperature. Wind speeds will range between 15 km/h and 25 km/h.
What if rain washes out India vs New Zealand?
Although, as mentioned, there is no rain expected, if it does happen, all eyes will be on the points table. This match is crucial for both teams. If India wins, they will move straight to the top with six points, while if New Zealand wins, they will finish as Group A toppers. However, if rain washes out the game, New Zealand will finish at the top of Group A due to a superior Net Run Rate.
