During an interaction on a recent show, Relationsh!t Advice, Taapsee mentioned that she met Mathias 10-11 years ago.
He proposed to her the very next year, and for the past nine years, they have not changed their minds. She added that she still believes they can stay together for most of their lives.

In the same chat, the actress shared a memorable moment of Mathias planning their first date in Dubai. He proposed to her by saying, ‘I would like to take you on a date either in
Denmark
or
Dubai
because these are the two places I know very well to plan things.’ Taapsee Pannu expressed her initial reluctance about traveling to Denmark due to the difficulty of obtaining a Schengen visa. She found the process too challenging, which led her to opt for Dubai instead.
The actress was initially confused as to why Mathias was interested in her. She spoke about the inferiority complex often felt by people from India when interacting with white people. She questioned why she was chosen but was still prepared to meet him.
Taapsee shared that her friends were concerned about her safety when she first met him, jokingly warning her about potential dangers. One of her friends asked, ‘Please be careful; what if he sells you off?’ and gave her the contact number of her sister in Dubai. Fortunately, the man turned out to be kind, and their
relationship
has now lasted 11 years.
