Devendra Fadnavis thanks Amit Shah for support in Maharashtra elections

In a post on X, Fadnavis credited Shah for inspiring party workers and acknowledged his significant role during the campaign.

NEW DELHI: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Friday expressed gratitude to Union home minister Amit Shah for his support during the Maharashtra Assembly elections. In a post on X, Fadnavis credited Shah for inspiring party workers and acknowledged his significant role during the campaign.
“Expressed my gratitude to Union Minister Amitbhai Shah, for his huge support on the battlefield during the important Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha Elections 2024 and for the way he greatly inspired and motivated the karykartas,” Fadnavis posted.
He also mentioned the presence of BJP National President JP Nadda, Maharashtra caretaker chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, and other Mahayuti leaders at the meeting in New Delhi.

Positive discussions, next steps
Following the meeting, Shinde described the talks with Shah and Nadda as “good and positive,” adding that the

would convene again in Mumbai to finalise the chief minister’s post. “In this meeting, a decision will be taken about who will be the chief minister,” Shinde said.
Fadnavis emphasized the unity within the alliance, stating that all decisions would be made collectively. “In our Mahayuti alliance, there has never been a difference of opinion. Before the elections, we announced that the decision regarding the Chief Minister’s post would be taken collectively after the results,” he said, dismissing speculation about internal discord.
The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, declared on November 23, saw the BJP emerging as the largest party with 132 seats in the 280-member assembly. Its allies—the Shiv Sena (57 seats) and the NCP (41 seats)—secured a comfortable majority, ensuring the MahaYuti alliance’s dominance in the state.
