Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2024 Highlights: Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed the record books once again as they struck 266/7 before beating Delhi Capitals by 67 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.
Led by a marauding PowerPlay start from Travis Head (89) and Abhishek Sharma (46), SRH put on 125 in the first six overs. Despite the run flow, DC mounted a comeback with Kuldeep Yadav bagging three wickets and Axar Patel dismissing the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen by the 10th over. However, Nitish Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed powered SRH back into the hunt with sturdy cameos that took them over 250 again.
Delhi Capitals had won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Both teams coming into the game with momentum on their side but it is Pant’s side that needs a win more than the visitors
The Capitals’ bowling has been under scrutiny, but the performance in the last game would have dispelled any doubts if they could manage with an all-Indian attack through the tournament efficiently. They suffocated Gujarat Titans in the previous game, and bundled them out for 89 and chased it in quick time to boost up the run rate and stay in the competition.
Sunrisers Hyderabad though are defining new boundaries with the bat on what an achievable total in T20 cricket is. But the concern has been their bowling who have been leaking a lot of runs, especially with Bhuvneshwar Kumar waning of his powers. However, they sit pretty on the table at this point and winning would only strengthen their chances further to qualify for playoffs.

“Invest in him. He’s the next big thing, not just in franchise cricket,” India batter Hanuma Vihari quote tweeted an old post on X, shortly after his young statemate Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed 64 runs off 37 balls for SunRisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kings.
As a 20-year-old, one must have serious potential to break into the SRH XI this year, with a host of international stars headlining the batting and bowling departments. Sealing a breezy win over the Chennai Super Kings with his eight-ball 14 cameo at number six that culminated with a six, Nitish had done enough to get another go. (Read more from Lalith Kalidas)
