Delhi Capitals recorded a much-needed win over the Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday as they defended 221 runs at home

DC vs RR Player ratings: Another IPL 2024 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, another high-scoring run-fest! The hosts Delhi Capitals (DC) were on the winning side as they recorded a 20-run triumph over the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

This victory has boosted DC’s hopes for a qualification berth in the playoffs. Meanwhile, RR still search for two more points to confirm their spot in the knockouts.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Jake Fraser-McGurk (9/10):
The young gun from Australia wreaked havoc right from the start. It was his 20-ball 50 that set the stage for a superb first-innings total for DC

Abhishek Porel (8.5/10)
The left-hander top-scored for DC as he made 65 off only 36 balls. He clubbed runs at a superb rate of 180.

Shai Hope (4.5/10)
Hope was dismissed in an unfortunate fashion as he was ran-out at non-striker’s. Ball crashed onto the stumps and Hope was almost two feet out of the crease. However, he took a match-winning catch of Sanju Samson at the boundary rope.

Rishabh Pant (4.5/10)
DC skipper looked off colors against RR as he struggled against spin. He made 15 runs off 13 balls.

Axar Patel (6.5/10)
Axar was slotted up the order in order to stabilize the innings but failed to do so. With the ball he picked up 1 wicket at a decent economy of 8.3.

Tristan Stubbs (8/10)
Stubbs continued his red-hot form and provided a superb finish for DC. He made 41 off 20, smashing runs at a strike rate of 205

Gulbadin Naib (5.5/10)
The Afghan all-rounder made his debut but didn’t spark any fireworks, made only 19 off 15. Naib didn’t get any chance to bowl

Rasikh Salam Dar (6.5/10)
The youngster hammered a surprising 3-ball 9-run cameo. However, he leaked 28 runs in just two overs.

Kuldeep Yadav (9/10)
Player of the Match, Kuldeep was simply superb on a track that largely helped batsmen. He claimed two wickets but his economy rate of 6.2 was quite remarkable.

Mukesh Kumar (8.5/10)
Took two crucial wickets of Samson and Powell, Mukesh was clinical. With 13 scalps, the Indian pacer has performed phenomenally well.

Ishant Sharma (7/10)
The veteran pacer started well but was taken apart by Samson. (0/34)

Khaleel Ahmed (8/10)
The left-armer took two wickets but leaked 47 runs in his four overs. While he was decent with the new ball, Khaleel lacked effectiveness at death.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Yashasvi Jaiswal (1.5/10)
Apart from his century, Jaiswal has left a lot to be desired in IPL 2024. He was dismissed for 4 runs vs DC

Jos Buttler (5.5/10)
Played as an Impact player, Buttler failed to convert his start of 19 runs as he threw his bat off an Axar Patel delivery.

Sanju Samson (8.5/10)
Samson played a captain’s knock as he clubbed 86 off 46 runs. The RR skipper looked in supreme touch but his stay came to an abrupt end, courtesy of a controversial decision.

Riyan Parag (6.5/10)
Parag would’ve felt bad for not scoring big after scoring 27 off 22 balls. Interestingly, he even bowled two overs in the first innings and kept things tight (0/17).

Shubham Dubey (7/10)
Dubey looked good as he smashed some lusty blows against Khaleel Ahmed.

Rovman Powell (4.5/10)
Powell was tasked to finish off the chase but failed to get in the groove, was castled by Mukesh Kumar while slogging

Donovan Ferrerira (2/10)
Debutant had a dismal outing as he was dismissed for a mere 1 run.

Ravichandran Ashwin (9/10)
Ashwin did all he could with the ball, claiming three big wickets in his four overs. He stuck to his plans and bowled with great variations.

Trent Boult (6.5/10)
Boult was took apart by Jake Fraser-McGurk, leaking 48 runs off his 4 overs.

Avesh Khan (1/10)
A horrific night for Avesh as he got smashed for 42 runs in the 12 balls he bowled vs DC.

Sandeep Sharma (6.5/10)
Sandeep travelled for 42 runs as his variation didn’t prove to be fruitful on the Arun Jaitley track

Yuzvendra Chahal (6/10)
Player who has conceded the most IPL 2024 runs so far, Chahal was ineffective once again (48/1).
