Congress to contest all 70 seats in Delhi polls without alliance, says state party chief Devender Yadav

The Congress party will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections without any alliances, state Congress president

Devender Yadav

announced Friday. The party will field candidates for all 70 seats. The decision on the Chief Ministerial candidate will be made after the election by the Congress Legislative Party, Yadav said.
AAP

leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently compared the upcoming election to a religious battle. “Delhi Assembly election is like a ‘dharamyudh’. They have immense money and power like the Kauravas, but God and the people are with us as was the case with the Pandavas,” Kejriwal told party workers.
The BJP is also preparing for the elections. On Thursday, the Delhi BJP announced 43 committees to manage various election-related tasks, including campaigning and outreach.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025. The AAP won the previous election in 2020, with Arvind Kejriwal becoming Chief Minister for a third term.
