Collector’s intervention sought to end border dispute between local bodies

Maradu Municipal chairman Antony Asanparambil has written to District Collector N.S.K. Umesh, seeking his urgent intervention to amicably end the border dispute between the municipality and Kumbalam panchayat.

This comes in the wake of the panchayat objecting to the municipality renewing the permit for a building that was under construction and the panchayat objecting to it, saying it was in its land.

Likewise, the panchayat had objected to the municipality installing a board in an area under dispute. The municipality has kept documents ready to show that owners of land in such areas were remitting tax to it, Mr. Asanparambil said in a release.
