A lorry cleaner was burnt alive in a ghastly road accident took place near Narupeta of Bhogapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district on Monday (December 9, 2024). According to police, a lorry hit a sand loaded tractor from behind while going from Visakhapatnam to Srikakulam. The fire erupted from lorry engine which led the death of the cleaner.
The driver could escape with minor injuries. The lorry was completely gutted in the fire accident. Circle Inspector Prabhaskar, sub inspectors Paparao, Suryakumari and others reached the spot and inquired about the incident. They cleared the traffic that came to a halt for about 30 minutes.
According to sources, fire engines took some time to reach the spot to douse the fire.
