BJP leader Sambit Patra criticized Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, calling it “low-level” and dramatic. He referenced Balasaheb Thackeray’s nickname for Rahul, “Popat,” and accused the Gandhi family of looting India’s “tijori” (treasury) through various scams. Patra implied that Rahul and his mother, Sonia Gandhi, are tainted by corruption, referencing their bail status.BJP leader Sambit Patra said, “…The press conference done by the Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi was of a very low level. It does not suit the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi to bring a ‘tijori’ and do drama around it…’Chota popat ne kiya hai Congress chopat’…Balasaheb Thackeray has named Rahul Gandhi as ‘Popat’ in one of his interviews…The people who have been looting the ‘tijori’ for many years, now consider the meaning of ‘tijori’ as safe…The family has over the years looted the ‘tijori’ of India. They (the Gandhi family) looted India by doing many scams…Mother (accused no.1) and son (accused no. 2) are out on bail…”
