KURUKSHETRA:
Bharatiya Kisan Union
Charuni held meeting of its office-bearers and union in Kurukshetra on Wednesday and decided not to contest
Lok Sabha
elections on the symbol of Gurnam Singh Charuni’s
Sanyukt Sangharsh Party
(SSP).
Charuni said they have decided that SSP would contest upcoming state assembly elections in Haryana.
Charuni said all the aspects related to contesting elections were discussed in the meeting.
“It has been decided that we will not contest this Lok Sabha elections. However, Vidhan Sabha elections will be contested under the banner of Sanyukt Sangharsh Party on all 90 seats of Haryana. If we need to do any agitation, the same will also be done under the banner of this party (SSP). BKU
Charuni
will remain as SSP’s farmer wing”, said Gurnam Singh Charuni.
About their support to any
political party
for Lok Sabha elections, Charuni said, “Congress did not give any lift to the farmers. Congress did not talk or hold any discussion with SKM (Sanyukt Kisan Morcha) or us or any other farmer leader or union, that is what we want. What are our demands. Not even a single farm leader has been given a ticket in the country (by Congress). Even Hooda did as much opposition as he could and our people who went to meet him, he insulted them.”
“Therefore, it was not possible to support any one party in today’s meeting. So, we have decided that the SSP and BKU Charuni’s workers and office-bearers can jointly take a decision about where to vote. Our office-bearers including district and block presidents will not be part of any political event or share stage with anyone or sit in anyone’s car”, said Charuni.
Charuni appealed to his supporters and workers to work on the policy discussed in the meeting and plan for contesting all 90 seats in Haryana assembly elections, as there is no reform without politics.
“We want to do politics, because all the political parties in the country are working to sell the country and making laws to support capitalists. To save the country, we need patriots. Those patriots will be included in this party (SSP), who want to fight for the country and spend their time to save the country”, added Charuni.
