Celebrity Cricket League is coming back once again with a pack of actors who also like to showcase their impressive cricketing skills. The eleventh CCL season will start on January 31. This eight-team competition works differently compared to others. Although it started as a T20 format when it came into existence in 2011, it later switched to T10 and then, interestingly, adopted a 20-over test format where both teams play two innings of 10 overs each.
As mentioned, there are now eight teams, but when the competition started, there were only four, Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Mumbai Heroes, and Karnataka Bulldozers.
Over time, the popularity of the league gradually increased, and now the eight teams, Karnataka Bulldozers, Mumbai Heroes, Chennai Rhinos, Kerala Strikers, Punjab De Sher, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, Telugu Warriors, and Bengal Tigers are all set to showcase their cricketing skills.

It was Chennai Rhinos who emerged as champions in the first season, defeating Karnataka Bulldozers. Led by actor Vishal, Chennai Rhinos’ success didn’t stop there. In the second season, they continued their dominance and once again faced Karnataka Bulldozers, defeating them convincingly to defend their trophy.
However, after suffering two back-to-back defeats in the finals, Karnataka Bulldozers came back stronger. Under the captaincy of Sudeep, they destroyed every team in their path and eventually defeated Telugu Warriors in finals, announcing their arrival as champions.
The latest winners are the Bengal Tigers, who won their first CCL silverware under Jisshu Sengupta. They will now look to defend their title in the upcoming season when they take the field.
Most successful team in CCL
Telugu Warriors, who started their dominance in 2015, continued it in the next two seasons in 2016 and 2017. They also won in 2023, making them the most successful team in CCL. Next come Chennai Rhinos and Karnataka Bulldozers, who have two titles each.
