NEW DELHI:
Danish brewer Carlsberg
on Friday said that they have agreed to buy and take control of its partner Khetan Group, which owns 33.3% of shares in the holding company for the brewer’s businesses in India and Nepal for $744 million (Rs 6100 crore).
Carlsberg CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen said: “We can now accelerate investments to capture the long-term growth opportunities in this exciting beer market.”
After the transaction is finalised,
Carlsberg
will have complete ownership of the operations in India and will possess 99.94% of the business in Nepal, the company stated.
