“Bowl left handed” Aussie PM jokes about passing new law to deal Jasprit Bumrah threat

India Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been brilliant in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. From the last 4 games of the series, he has notched up 30 wickets and is currently the highest wicket-taker in the series. On New Year’s Day Aussie PM, Anthony Albanese sat with both the teams where he joked about bringing out a new rule.

He acknowledged how Jasprit Bumrah has been the best bowler of the series so far. He claimed that whenever he came to bowl, the match turned exciting. And thus as a means to counter his threat, he jokingly said about passing a new law where Bumrah has to bowl left-handed.

Special rule for Jasprit Bumrah?

“We could pass a law here that says he has to bowl left-handed or off one step. Every time he has come onto bowl has been very exciting,” said Anthony Albanese.

Jasprit Bumrah has been brilliant in the BGT so far. He went on to scalp 30 wickets and has been the best performer for Team India. As things stand, India is currently trailing the series 2-1. And with just one Test match remaining, it all comes down to the wire as the fate of the IND vs AUS Test series hangs in the balance.

Anthony Albanese also hogged a bit of limelight since he hand-picked Sam Konstas in the Prime Minister’s XI in the warm-up match in Canberra. The young opener got his chance in the Melbourne Test and faired well as the Aussies comfortably won the Boxing Test.
