NEW DELHI: A day after two
bikers
were killed in an
accident
involving BJP leader
Karan Bhushan
Singh’s
convoy
, the Kaiserganj candidate said on Thursday that the two got run over by car after they hit a woman and then fell in front of the car. He further called the incident “painful” and “coincidence”.
According to him, the two victims — Rehan Khan (17) and Shehzad Khan (20) — were his father and sitting Kaiserganj MP & former Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan’s supporters.
Karan said that some of his party volunteers paid a visit to the victim’s family and also attended the funeral.
The accident happened on Colonelganj-Huzurpur road on Wednesday when the SUV, with the registration number UP32HW 1800, fatally struck two youths according to SHO Nirbhay Narayan Singh. Both the victims died at the scene.
After hitting the bike, the driver lost control of the SUV, which then hit Sita Devi, 60, who was walking on the roadside. Sita Devi is currently undergoing treatment at a medical college. The SUV driver Luvkush Srivastava, 30, has been arrested.
An FIR has been registered under various sections of IPC and Motor Vehicles Act, according to Gonda ASP Radhey Shyam Rai.
